Introduction
The ICT is one of the three section under Information and Documentation Department, It was created as a result of restructuring of the Institute organogram by the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) in 2011 formally under Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Department as Computer and Statistic .
Activities of the Section
- Network Management:
Setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the organization’s computer networks LAN, WAN, internet access, and Wi-Fi). - System Administration:
Installing, configuring, and managing servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Data Management and Backup:
Storing, protecting, and backing up important organizational data to prevent loss. - Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Providing helpdesk support to staff, fixing hardware/software issues, and maintaining smooth ICT operations. - Hardware Installation and Maintenance:
Procuring, installing, and maintaining computers, printers, and other ICT equipment. - Website and Email Management:
Managing the organization’s website, email systems, and online presence. - ICT Training and Capacity Building:
Training employees to effectively use ICT tools and promoting digital literacy.
