The main library is at the headquarters badeggi, with other branches at Ibadan, Amakama and Uyo outstations and reading room at Mokwa and Birin-Kebbi outstations. The library also collaborates with other institute in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
Goals and objectives
- To provide easy access to library stock.
- To offer oral and written information services in the field of Agriculture with particular focus on the mandate crops of the institute and support activities
- To create a conducive atmosphere for the achievement of the institute objectives.
- To serve as a legal depository for all published and none published work of ncri and that of the institute scientists.
- To serve as liaison linkage for all research work publish both nationally and internationally.
The library service section has the following units:-
- Administration/Technical unit.
- Circulation unit and
- Reference unit.
Administration/Technical service Unit
This unit takes charge of collection development. It selects, acquires, catalogue, classifies and all the technical processes of both printed and non print materials before moving them to readers
I N 2018 Library could not acquire new books, except those on gift and exchange 37books were receive as gift, 40 pamphlets 15 periodicals 5 government publications and 5 daily news paper title where received at the headquarter library.
Circulation Unit
The serve as the focal the point in library. This were library clientele first interacts with the staff of the library for any reason to get information, the unit charges and discharge materials to eligible user of library both internal staff and other sister library on library cooperation.
